Making a Fogo Island Travel Wrap

These photos show you some of the love and hard work that my team puts into our cozy Fogo Island Travel Wraps.

Fogo Island wrap. Winding the wool. Preparing the yarn. The knitting is inspected throughout the knitting process. Knitting takes strength as well as skill. The throw is blocked. Blocked edge, ready for hand sewing. Labelled by hand. Washed and dried before repressing.

Wrapped and ready to go. Happy Knitter!

  1. I love my Fogo Island Travel Wrap . I was the lucky bidder on a donated wrap at the Pakenham Civitan Basket Silent Auction a couple of years ago. (I also ‘won’ one or your cardigans last fall!) I was wondering what the best way to wash the wrap was. Thank you. Lori

    1. Hi Lori,
Why don’t you give me a call at 613-624-5201. I think the yarn for that wrap is not the one I now use for the Fogo Island wraps. I want to make sure I give you the proper instructions.
Thanks for supporting the Civitan here in Pakenham. They do great community work.
